Legend Cars World Finals are this year outside the US borders for the first time in history. The race is driven in Finland at Botniaring raceway on September. Swedish Emil Persson is going out to get the third World Championship.

Swedish Emil Persson has won Legend Cars World Finals both in 2015 and 2016. In both races Emil also took pole positions, drove the best laptime and even made the track records.

The 27 year old champion has ruled Legend series in his home country as well as in the World Finals races in the US. Persson is going for the third championship in a row on September 16.17 in Finland.

– My goal is to win of course! It is definitely going to be a great race weekend, lots of tight races and overtaking, Persson predicts.

Persson is one of the champion nominees for the World Finals in Finland, especially as he wiped the floor with his Finnish co-drivers by winning the Finnish championship race at Botniaring on May.

Persson has started with go-karts as he was 10 years old, driven Porches and Ferraris in the Swedish GT series for two years, and for the past three years dominated the Legend cars series.

– With a go-kart backround it is easy to drive a Legend car. It’s fast and the races are very tight but fair. It needs experience, practice and a good team to be a Legend car champion though, says Persson.

Persson has some challenge though at Botniaring and his third Legend car championship isn’t written in the stars yet. Persson mentiones a Finnish duo Henri Tuomaala and Mathias Hertén as his biggest competitors for the World Finals.

World Champion has an advice for everyone dreaming about racing.

– Everyone should start racing because it is the best thing you can do!
